Having time to yourself is important. It's also really damn hard to do in a world filled with video chats and watches that can email. But that's exactly the moment J. Alan Schneider is trying to emulate with his latest release "Don't Give Up Your Whole Day" on limited edition, lathe-cut vinyl via Leesta Vall Sound Recordings in Brooklyn.
Serving as the followup to his debut release Lo & Behold, this music was recorded exactly as it sounds: alone in an apartment in Queens. With the B-side "I'll Be Sitting Here" having been recorded in only one take with very light production, the sound, just like the lyrics, aims to encourage taking a moment (or a whole day) to reflect on yourself and be with yourself.
Our limited edition lathe cut record releases are made on a modified antique record cutting lathe from the 1950's. Each record is handmade, one at a time, in real time, by a real person.
